“Gary Anderson Endorses Luke Humphries as Top Global Darts Player”

Date:

Gary Anderson disputes Luke Littler’s standing as the top player globally purely based on official rankings. Littler emerged prominently at the 2024 Darts World Championships, marking the start of his remarkable journey in the sport.

Since his debut final appearance, Littler has been dominating the darts scene, clinching victories in prestigious events like the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and the Premier League. Despite his impressive resume, he remains in the shadow of Luke Humphries, who has amassed £1,769,000 in prize money compared to Littler’s £1,697,000.

In a recent Q&A session with Darts Corner, Gary Anderson unequivocally endorsed Luke Humphries as the best player globally and identified Michael van Gerwen as the top player in Europe outside the UK. Littler, although trailing in rankings, concurs with Anderson’s viewpoint, acknowledging the need to secure the world number one spot to claim the title of the best player.

With the upcoming world championship at Alexandra Palace in mid-December, Littler aims to build momentum after reaching the finals in the previous two editions. The final roster of opponents for the championship will be confirmed later this month, with the draw scheduled shortly thereafter.

As Littler prepares for the championship, there is anticipation surrounding his potential ascent to the top ranking position, intensifying the competition with Luke Humphries. The debate on the best darts player in the world continues, with Littler focused on advancing his career and striving for the coveted number one spot in the darts realm.
