“Secret Service Employee Celebrates Charlie Kirk Assassination”

Date:

An employee of the Secret Service has been placed on immediate leave following indications of celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk on social media. Charlie Kirk, a political activist known for his support of Trump, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. The alleged shooter, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was apprehended the next day.

The Secret Service employee, Anthony Pough, reportedly posted on Facebook expressing joy over the death of the Turning USA founder, accusing Kirk of promoting racism. The Secret Service has taken swift action by placing the employee on administrative leave and initiating an investigation, as stated by a spokesperson.

In response to the incident, Secret Service Director Sean Curran emphasized the need for staff to avoid contributing to the growing issue of politically motivated attacks in the U.S. He underscored the importance of upholding the agency’s code of conduct and focusing on solutions rather than exacerbating problems.

Curran’s message to the Secret Service staff highlighted the escalating frequency of politically motivated attacks and the necessity for maintaining high standards of behavior both on and off duty. He stressed the importance of operating without bias towards political affiliations to preserve the trust essential for fulfilling their mission.
