“Belly and Benito’s Love Story Unfolds in TSITP Season Finale”

Date:

The latest episode of Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP) on Prime Video introduces new characters as the series nears its conclusion. In the recent episode, Belly (played by Lola Tung) embarks on a romantic journey with Benito (portrayed by Fernando Cattori) after her failed engagement to Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).

Their budding romance unfolds in France during the festive season when Belly chooses to stay abroad instead of returning home for Christmas. The chemistry between Belly and Benito culminates in a passionate New Year’s Eve kiss, hinting at a blossoming relationship by the end of season three, episode 10.

Fernando Cattori, the Mexican actor and director, breathes life into the character of Benito in the series. Known for his work behind the camera, Cattori received a Latin Grammy nomination for directing the music video ‘Nacimos Llorando’ and made his acting debut in Netflix’s Untamed Royals. He later starred in Prime Video’s Spanish romcom, With You in the Future, before landing his first English-speaking role in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Reflecting on his experience portraying Benito, Cattori shared in an interview with Schön! Magazine that the role presented unique challenges, particularly as it was his first time acting in English. Despite his fluency in the language, embodying a character who thinks and feels in a different language was a significant adjustment for him.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to conclude with its final episode airing next Wednesday, September 17, on Prime Video.
