“Oasis to Rock Knebworth Again in 2026”

Date:

Oasis is set to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1996 performances at Knebworth with a series of five shows at the same venue next summer. The concerts by Liam and Noel Gallagher at the Hertfordshire location were emblematic of the Britpop era, drawing massive crowds of 250,000 over two nights in August 1996. Following their successful global tour, the brothers have reportedly secured tentative dates at Knebworth for 2026.

Industry insiders suggest that the Gallaghers raked in approximately £1.2 billion from their worldwide tour, with expectations that the Knebworth anniversary concerts could generate an extra £100 million. A source commented on the opportunity to capitalize on the event, highlighting the significance of Oasis’s return to Knebworth for fans who experienced the pinnacle of Britpop in 1996.

During the 1996 performances at Knebworth, over two percent of the UK population applied for tickets, resulting in both gigs selling out within 24 hours. Hits like “Don’t Look Back In Anger” and “Some Might Say” were among the songs performed by Oasis at the time. The upcoming shows are anticipated to feature classics such as those alongside newer tracks like “All Around the World” and “Go Let it Out.”

An insider revealed plans for a music extravaganza with five concerts at Knebworth, offering fans a chance to relive the magic of the historic 1996 gigs. Liam recently returned to the venue for two concerts in 2022, a year after the release of a documentary film commemorating the iconic Knebworth concerts.

Noel, aged 58, and Liam, aged 52, are currently captivating audiences in the US, including a sold-out performance at the 90,000-seat Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, attended by notable figures like Sir Paul McCartney, Rita Ora, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Speculation is rife that Oasis may be gearing up to record their first studio album in 17 years, with signs indicating Noel’s songwriting activity on tour and Liam’s more collaborative approach.

The band’s official photographer, Kevin Cummins, expressed optimism about the possibility of a new album, citing Noel’s prolific songwriting and Liam’s vocal compatibility. Cummins believes that the duo’s dynamics could lead to a successful studio recording.
