“Thieves Swipe 70,000 Pints of Guinness in UK Heist”

Date:

Thieves in the United Kingdom have set a new standard for audacity. British authorities are currently working to recover approximately 70,000 pints of stolen Guinness, a popular dark beer. The theft took place in northwest England near Liverpool, where two trailer trucks containing the sought-after beverage, valued at 115,000 pounds ($216,000 in Canadian dollars), were taken from a depot.

Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy emphasized the importance of lawfully acquiring Guinness, stating that its benefits are realized only when purchased legitimately. The Cheshire Constabulary is determined to retrieve all the stolen items without compromise.

This incident follows a recent beer theft in the United States, which gained public attention due to the witty social media updates from the affected brewery. The stolen Guinness, intended for pubs, was seized by two drivers who seized the trailers loaded with around 800 barrels of stout at an industrial park in Runcorn on Monday night. The trailers themselves were estimated to be worth 50,000 pounds ($93,000).

In a separate incident, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer worth $70,000 in the United States was stolen from a warehouse in Southern California. The company offered a $20,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen goods.

In response to the theft, the brewery used social media to address the perpetrator, acknowledging the desire to impress others but urging them to acquire the beer through legitimate means. The company’s Instagram post conveyed a serious tone, emphasizing the authenticity of the situation.
