Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to music industry executive Allison Hsu. The couple tied the knot over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. Their wedding festivities in France were initially reported by TMZ.
Their relationship, which officially began in late 2022, was publicly announced in May 2025 during a trip to Paris when they got engaged. They have since shared updates on their relationship through social media, showcasing wedding-related events in Mexico and a visit to Paris.
Liu has openly discussed their courtship and mutual support, emphasizing the importance of championing each other in a healthy relationship. He expressed his feelings to People magazine in 2023. Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.”
His portrayal of Shang-Chi has propelled Liu to international fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he played Jung Kim. Liu has also taken on various projects, such as starring in the film “Barbie” and the series “The Copenhagen Test,” as well as lending his voice to animated films like “In Your Dreams.” Additionally, he made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year.
