Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse secured his fifth Diamond League Final appearance by finishing strong in the 200-meter race at the Weltklasse Zürich meet. He crossed the line in 20.03 seconds, trailing behind Kenny Bednarek of the United States and Sinesipho Dambile of South Africa. De Grasse’s performance marked his first 200-meter race since his victory in Zagreb, Croatia, with a time of 19.95.
De Grasse holds the Canadian record of 19.62, achieved during the 2021 Olympic final in Tokyo. In 2023, he stunned the competition to become the Diamond League Trophy recipient, following in the footsteps of Dylan Armstrong. The upcoming Diamond League Final will feature De Grasse alongside Marco Arop and Sarah Mitton.
