Canada’s head coach, Cindy Tye, has announced the squad for the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup set to take place in Poland next month. The team comprises 21 players, including three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards. Additionally, six alternate players will accompany the squad to Poland to assist with preparations before the tournament kicks off on September 5 and concludes on September 27.
The team is scheduled to assemble in Lublin, Poland, on August 23, before transitioning to their base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. A closed-door match against Spain is slated for August 31 as part of their pre-tournament preparations. Canada, one of the 24 participating nations, is placed in Group B and will face England on September 5, Brazil on September 8, and Tanzania on September 11 during the group stage.
Having secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, where Canada clinched the regional title for the third time, the team is gearing up for the challenges ahead. Coach Tye emphasized the importance of the upcoming competition, acknowledging the elevated level of competition and urging her players to embrace the challenge with confidence while representing Canada on the global stage.
