Most major TV and internet providers in the UK have raised prices in 2025, primarily in April. Sky is now implementing a new price increase, impacting users of its NOW broadband service.
The price adjustment, announced in May, is set to take effect on July 4, affecting subscribers to Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre plans. Customers using NOW through these broadband packages will see a monthly increase of £3 on their bills.
Acknowledging the potential dissatisfaction among users, a spokesperson for NOW commented, “We understand that price hikes are never welcomed. However, to enhance and invest in our services, pricing adjustments are necessary.”
Initially, NOW offered users the option to leave without incurring fees within 31 days of notification about the price increase. Customers are advised to check their emails to determine if they are still within this window to switch providers without penalty.
In light of the price changes, NOW emphasizes its ongoing investments to enhance services and address rising cost pressures, including wholesale expenses and service improvements.
Subscribers are encouraged to review their contracts with NOW or explore alternative providers for better deals. Community Fibre, for instance, is currently offering free broadband for three months.
For those seeking ISP options in their area, Ofcom’s postcode checker can help identify available providers, potentially offering faster speeds at competitive rates. It is vital to compare offers from various providers, including both established companies like BT, Virgin, and Sky, as well as newer, smaller networks emerging in the UK.
