“MacIntyre Frustrated by BMW Championship Collapse”

Date:

Robert MacIntyre expressed frustration and disappointment after a disappointing performance at the BMW Championship in Maryland. Despite holding a four-shot lead overnight, MacIntyre struggled from the start, allowing Scottie Scheffler to seize the lead and eventually win by two strokes.

MacIntyre admitted to a poor start with consecutive bogeys and a dropped shot on the fifth hole. His struggles led him to consider damaging his clubs out of frustration. He highlighted his unexpected performance compared to his recent form and expressed confusion over his shots not performing as expected.

Despite the setback, MacIntyre secured a place in the upcoming Ryder Cup and a prize of £1.6m. Joining Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood on Team Europe, MacIntyre’s late collapse did not overshadow his overall performance.

Scheffler’s victory also sealed his spot in the upcoming competition, joining other American players for Team USA. The 45th Ryder Cup is set to commence on September 26 at Bethpage Black in New York, with Team Europe looking to defend their title against Team USA, who have dominated the last two editions on home soil.

Reflecting on his consistent performance, MacIntyre credited his intensity in each round for his success on the PGA Tour. With the Ryder Cup approaching, golf fans eagerly anticipate the outcome of the prestigious event, with both teams gearing up for a competitive clash.
