RCMP officers in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have arrested a man on three charges related to firearms following reports from residents who heard gunshots over the weekend. The RCMP stated in a press release that on August 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to complaints of gunfire and observed a man with a firearm inside a residence near 68th Street. The man was taken into custody by officers later that morning. The charges against him include recklessly discharging a firearm, improper storage of a loaded firearm, and negligent use of a firearm. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 17.
