Lewis Hamilton Vows to Revamp Performance at Ferrari

Date:

Lewis Hamilton has expressed his determination to put in the hard work needed to improve his performance at Ferrari, following his recent admission that he felt he should be dismissed from the team. Hamilton, who is currently in the first season of his lucrative £60 million per year contract with Ferrari, has been struggling with his form, currently sitting in sixth place in the F1 standings, trailing his teammate Charles Leclerc by 42 points.

The 40-year-old has faced challenges adapting to his new team, failing to secure a podium finish in 14 races and only managing to outperform Leclerc on two occasions this season. His frustration peaked during the Hungarian Grand Prix after a disappointing qualifying session, where he openly criticized his own abilities, suggesting that a change in driver might be necessary.

Despite the initial turmoil, the mid-season break provided Hamilton with a chance to reflect and refocus. Ahead of the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, he emphasized his renewed determination and motivation to work diligently and make necessary adjustments to his approach in order to rediscover his enjoyment of racing.

Hamilton has garnered support from fellow drivers, including George Russell, who dismissed Hamilton’s self-criticism as “nonsense” and emphasized Hamilton’s status as one of the greatest drivers in history. Fernando Alonso, another veteran driver, acknowledged the challenges Hamilton is facing but expressed confidence in Hamilton’s ability to bounce back and regain his competitive edge with Ferrari.

For Formula 1 enthusiasts, Sky offers a new deal that provides live coverage of every practice, qualifying session, and race. The Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle not only includes access to Sky Sports but also offers over 100 TV channels and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+, enhancing the viewing experience for fans.
