“Man in Bunny Mask Assaults Ex-Partner with Meat Cleaver”

Date:

In a recent court proceeding, it was revealed that a woman was confronted by her ex-partner wearing a Halloween-themed bunny mask and brandishing a meat cleaver before assaulting her. Jamie French, aged 31, faced charges of assault causing harm to the woman and damaging her property on August 12. Following the incident, he was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Cloverhill District Court in Dublin.

During the hearing at Dublin District Court, Garda Brian Law opposed bail, emphasizing the gravity of the case. Allegations were made against French for forcefully entering the victim’s residence, threatening her, and causing physical harm. The victim, in her twenties, reported the disturbing encounter where French, in a bunny mask, damaged her belongings and subjected her to violence.

According to the victim’s account, French aggressively attacked her, threatening her life and causing physical harm. Despite her pleas to stop, he continued his violent actions, leaving her injured and traumatized. The court was informed that evidence, including the mask and cleaver, was recovered, supporting the victim’s claims of a vicious attack.

Although the defense argued that much of the evidence was hearsay, the judge determined that denying bail was necessary given the circumstances. French, who did not enter a plea, remained silent during the court proceedings. Further directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions are awaited to proceed with the case.
