“Environment Canada Lifts Alberta Yellow Alert”

Date:

Environment Canada has canceled a yellow alert for severe weather following a storm that swept through parts of southern Alberta. The weather agency warned of potential damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rainfall as the storm passed from Claresholm towards areas near Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. The initial warning issued earlier in the day highlighted the risk of a dangerous thunderstorm capable of generating baseball-sized hail and causing damage to buildings and trees.

A yellow watch for severe thunderstorms remained active for a large area extending from Claresholm to Hays and south to the U.S. border as of Tuesday night. For the most recent updates, individuals are encouraged to visit the Environment Canada website.

If you have any photos or videos of the storm, you can share them by emailing calgaryphotos@cbc.ca.
